The mission for the Senior Centers of Cherokee County is to be the focal point for providing all senior adults with information and services designed to assist them in leading independent, meaningful, and dignified lives in their own homes and communities as long as possible. In 1972, The Senior Center began as a pilot project under the “Family Counseling” umbrella of Spartanburg, SC. In 1975, Cherokee County
Services to the aging was chartered as a 501C3. Senior Centers of Cherokee County is the local area on aging.

We believe everyone deserves to have financial independence and make their own decisions for as long as possible. We understand it can be scary to face the unknown at this stage of life. You can’t afford to make a mistake.

That’s why we’ve devoted ourselves to helping people make use of their existing home equity as a way to fund their retirement. A reverse mortgage is easier than you think. The Breathe Easier Club is a monthly group for patients diagnosed with lung cancer, long-term survivors, and family members or friends. Join us for a delicious free lunch or dinner for conversation and information.

By providing meals, transportation, and social interaction to older adults, Aiken Senior Life Services – a private, charitable nonprofit organization established in 1971 – allows Aiken County seniors to gracefully age in place. 

Aiken Senior Life Services, in partnership with Meals on Wheels America, provides a hot, nutritious meal to any senior who is unable to leave their home or who has difficulty preparing a meal. These meals are delivered by volunteers that provide important social interaction to homebound seniors. These visits, which serve as important “wellness checks,” often turn into lasting friendships. 

We provide Aging Life Care Management services. We assess our clients’ needs, educate them and their caregivers as to the best ways to meet these needs, connect them to resources, and provide on-going advocacy and Care Management services if requested. 

HopeHealth Manning is a community-based family practice located in Manning, SC that provides excellent primary care, support care, and specialty care.  Services include primary care, pediatrics, women’s health, rheumatology, endocrinology, after-hours care/Access Hope, as well as HIV and Hepatitis C screenings, prevention, and education. HopeHealth’s integrated health care model provides for the incorporation of behavioral health and counseling services.

HopeHealth provides integrated health services for more than 37,000 patients in areas surrounding Aiken, Clarendon, Florence, Orangeburg, and Williamsburg counties. It was founded in 1991 as a grassroots HIV/AIDS support organization, and was designated as a Federally Qualified Health Center in 2007 to expand its services to include primary and pediatric care. We are an activity center for adults 50 years and up. The Lourie Center’s mission is to provide opportunities for older adults to remain physically fit, socially engaged, intellectually stimulated and independent.  The center is a part of Senior Resources, and offers a wide array of programs in exercise, disease-preventions, arts and culture, lifelong learning, and social activities designed to keep older adults active and healthy.  

The Allendale County Office on Aging provides services to seniors age 60 and older that assist in helping them maintain their independence. The services we provide are home delivered meals, congregate meals, and transportation.

 Magnolia Manor of Spartanburg provides personalized skilled nursing services designed to consider and address the needs of every patient.

With three hospitals and nearly 50 locations, Tidelands Health is the largest health care system serving Georgetown, Horry and Williamsburg counties.

Driver Rehabilitation services - an outpatient Occupational Therapy service. Though this service is provided in Richland County, it is available to residents from any county.  

This comprehensive 2-part driving evaluation assesses a client’s ability to safely operate a vehicle. The first part is the in-clinic evaluation of physical, cognitive and visual abilities related to vehicle operation and typically lasts 1.5 - 2 hours. If it is found appropriate, the client will then continue to the second part - a road assessment which lasts approximately 1 hour.  By state law, a Prisma Health rehab vehicle must be used for this section.

The cost of the in-clinic evaluation may be billable to insurance; the road evaluation is an out-of-pocket expense.

Low tech driving adaptations may be recommended.
