    Respite Care - Out-of-Home

    Every week GAPS facilitates support groups for both people with Parkinson's and their care partners. Quarterly presentations are given by experts on topics such as the latest research related to Parkinson's Disease and legal issues. GAPS has partnered with the Greenville YMCA to offer exercise programs specific to Parkinson patients (YMCA Parkinson's Wellness Recovery).

    Companions

    Greenville Area Parkinson Society sponsors "Gaps In Motion" a dance/exercise class led by a former Broadway dancer. It is held at the International Ballet Academy in Greenville. A Newly Diagnosed class is held at Pelham Medical Center quarterly.  Once a month, a social is held at Bon Secours Wellness Arena for those who cannot attend a daytime support group and for members of the community who wish to support the Parkinson community. It is held in the Stella Artois VIP room from 5:30-7:00pm. Check our website -GAPSonline.org for dates of all events.

Description of Organization

The Greenville Area Parkinson Society (GAPS) is a local non-profit organization open to anyone living with Parkinson's Disease. Our focus is to facilitate the sharing of information and provide programs to maximize the quality of life for individuals and families affected by Parkinson's Disease.
