FoodShare South Carolina's mission is to increase access to, knowledge of and consumption of vegetables and fruit through community-led projects. 

Our Fresh Food Box is available at a cost which allows anyone to buy a box. Each box contains fresh produce and unique recipes, tips and nutrition notes. Fresh Food Boxes are filled with 9 to 11 varieties of fresh fruits and vegetables. With the contents changing weekly, it’s an affordable and exciting way to eat healthy food. Bulk buying at wholesale prices makes our boxes more affordable than buying produce at retail stores.

Our NeighborShare program is a community initiative that aims to ensure access to fresh, affordable food. The program serves individuals who need assistance ordering their Fresh Food Boxes or having boxes delivered to them by volunteers. 

Dementia Dialogues® is a nationally registered and evidence-informed, intervention program. This 5-module training course is designed to educate community members and caregivers (formal or informal) for persons who exhibit signs and symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (ADRD). The modules cover valuable information and recommendations including an overview of dementia, strategies for effective communication, understanding the environment and ways to promote independence, addressing challenging behaviors, and creative problem solving. Dementia Dialogues® is offered nationwide by Certified Instructors in-person and virtually, and as a virtual self-guided training at no cost to participants. Dementia Dialogues® is provided through Office of the Study of Aging at the Arnold School of Public Health, University of South Carolina.

The South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs (DDSN) is the state agency that plans, develops, coordinates and funds services for residents with various severe, lifelong disabilities. Populations served include individuals with traumatic brain injuries and spinal cord injuries, autism spectrum disorder, and intellectual disabilities.

Hospice provider for the greater Columbia and Midlands area.

We are a Non-Profit 501 3c Organization.  Our main service to seniors in SC is serving meals. We deliver hot and/or frozen meals to many areas in the county. We also serve meals on-site at two locations: the town of Bishopville and the SpringHill community. 
In addition to serving meals, we provide education, social, and recreational activities at our on-site locations. Low-cost and no-cost services available.

Since 2005, Comfort Keepers has served seniors and other adults in the Midlands area with dependable and professional in-home care. Our caring and compassionate caregivers travel to the clients homes to provide care services and living assistance allowing seniors and disabled individuals to live independently and as comfortable as possible. 

We serve individuals with spinal cord injuries to assist them in finding resources for their needs, questions, and concerns.

VR prepares and assists eligible South Carolinians with disabilities to achieve and maintain competitive employment.

Project VISION (Volunteers In Service In Our Neighborhoods) is the home repair initiative for the United Way of Aiken County, Inc. Home repairs are provided for low-income, disabled seniors, age 62 year or older. Senior(s) must own their home and currently occupy it.

 Our residents have access to a choice of home health agencies that provide regular personal care assessments. Staff members who are on call 24 hours a day work with residents to tailor plans for all levels of care needed, with services including medication reminders and administration, incontinence care, special nutritional counseling and escort and transfer assistance available if and when needed. Residents also can obtain bathing, dressing and grooming assistance and medication administration as necessary.

Physical, occupational and speech therapies are available on site as conveniences to our residents, who also have access to psychotherapy services. Wellness, walking, balance and exercise classes also are offered on a regular basis.

Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired South Carolina (ABVI) provides training and resources that empower individuals of all ages who are blind or visually impaired to lead safe, independent and fulfilling lives. 

By providing meals, transportation, and social interaction to older adults, Aiken Senior Life Services – a private, charitable nonprofit organization established in 1971 – allows Aiken County seniors to gracefully age in place. 

Aiken Senior Life Services, in partnership with Meals on Wheels America, provides a hot, nutritious meal to any senior who is unable to leave their home or who has difficulty preparing a meal. These meals are delivered by volunteers that provide important social interaction to homebound seniors. These visits, which serve as important “wellness checks,” often turn into lasting friendships. Low-cost and no-cost services are available. 

Greater Greenwood United Ministry, established in 1995, is a 501c3 non-profit organization that assists individuals in the community with spiritual, physical, and emotional needs. With the help of a partnership with Christian churches, business, and industries, the Ministry helps individuals move beyond their life or medical crisis to make better life choices that will help them sustain themselves and their families.

We offer a free medical clinic for people without insurance, Medicare or Medicaid. We also offer a monthly mobile Free Medical Clinic for the Saluda area. 

Hospice & Palliative Care of the Piedmont is your community non-profit network of care that provides expert life-changing health care for those living with advanced illnesses. Has been a non-profit, community based hospice since 1981. Employs more than 68 trained staff including 4 Nurse Practitioners, 15 licensed nurses, 4 certified Hospice and Palliative Care nurses, 3 licensed social workers, 3 physicians, and 1 certified Hospice & Palliative Care Administrator.
