Palmetto Family Homecare is faith-based independent provider servicing the state of South Carolina.  Palmetto Family Homecare is a licensed DHEC provider, providing non-medical care in the homes of clients and within facilities.  We have a family oriented approach to our care, while specializing in Neurological Disorder and Autism Care.  We provide an array of services to the elderly, disabled community, veterans, rehab recovery clients, new mothers or just anyone in the need of an extra pair of hands.

Many seniors consider their companion animals their family. They may not be able to afford to vaccinate or obtain basic annual care that is necessary in South Carolina's tropic‐like weather. Ideally, regular vaccinations and check‐ups will be offered through the program. Furthermore, transportation  throughout the state is a barrier, as most of the state is rural and many senior citizens needing  veterinarian services are homebound and unable to drive.  Through the generosity of South Carolina veterinarians, SCVets Care has stepped up to provide vaccinations, spay and neuter services,  diagnostic services and much more to senior citizen pets.

Memory Fit provides Memory Training as a prevention for the development of dementia.  Our Memory Training courses are 4 weeks each month for a total of 12 weeks.  Memory Foundation is week one in which participants learn about the brain.  Memory Everyday starts week two through week 10 in which participants learn the types of memory we use daily, strategies to navigate real life everyday memory issues, the Big 4 Factors for the prevention of dementia, and food that support brain and heart health.  Participants are encouraged to attend and participate all 12 weeks to receive the fullest benefit from our Memory Training courses.  All participants receive a complimentary memory assessment.  Please visit our website at memoryfit1.com to learn more.  You may also contact a Certified Memory Trainer at 803-205-4006 for additional information or questions.  This program is ideal for individuals with normal age-related memory complaints.  Our courses is not for people diagnosed with dementia or Alzheimer's Disease. We are experts with the care options in your area. Assisting Angels Homecare provides non medical care for clients in homes and facilities. Assisting Angels provides companionship and conversation, personal care to include bathing, toileting and incontinence care, medication reminders, appointment arranging, transportation and errands, transfer assistance, exercise encouragement, light housekeeping, meal prep, Alzheimer's/Dementia Care, Respite Care, and Post Surgical Care.

Sumter Senior Services is a non-profit organization designated as the focal point for aging services in Sumter County for programs, services, information and advocacy for older adults. The mission is to provide opportunities for physical, mental, and emotional wellness which support independence and enrich the quality of life for older adults.

Love House Academy's Senior Day Program is designed for retired adults over the age of 60 who are looking for a place to remain healthy in Mind, Body, and Soul.  It is for Lowcountry seniors who seek a reputable local organization to help them enjoy life to its fullest.  Our Senior Day Program is also ideal for seniors who may otherwise be isolated in their home environment.

Love House Academy's Senior Day Program is free and open to the public.  Currently we are only delivering frozen meals to senior's residence for those who qualify.  If you are in need of free meals to be delivered to your residence due to medical, health, or inabilities, please contact us for support.

Beaufort County has a large number of grandparents raising grandkids.  If you or someone you know is in need of affordable after-school and/or summer care, our Learning Academy services for students (children must be at least five years old) may be a good fit.  The Learning Academy focuses on continual educational opportunities when school is out of session and supports academics, attendance, positive behavior, and healthy choices in mind, body, and soul.  Please see our website for details or call for more information.

About Our Director:

Co-Pastor Theresa Roberts is an influential icon in her Beaufort County community through her outreach ministries and public involvement.  She attentively mentors and supports seniors, children, teens, young adults, and women.  Her passion for seeing lives changed has resulted in the $1-A-Day After School Program, the Love House Learning Academy, the Summer Learning Academy, and the Senior Day Program.  Theresa is by far a trailblazer when it comes to supporting the community and helping to bridge the gap between vulnerable people and accessible services that improve quality of life.

The Blake at Carnes Crossroads provides Assisted Living and Memory Care Services.

The Lexington County Sheriff's Department has forged a strong relationship with Project Lifesaver. This partnership allows us to use Project Lifesaver's technology to quickly track and locate individuals who are prone to wander from their homes.  You may contact Sgt. When you enroll your loved one in the program, you will receive a small personal Project Lifesaver transmitter.   This transmitter is worn on the wrist or ankle and emits an individualized tracking signal. If an enrolled Project Lifesaver client goes missing, the caregiver notifies the Department and deputies respond to the wanderer's area. Most clients who wander are found a few miles from home, and search times are reduced from hours and days to minutes. Recovery times for PLI clients average 30 minutes which is a 95 percent less time than standard operations.
