The South Carolina Emergency Management Division has listed the state’s readiness and response to Operating Condition Level Two, or OPCON 2. SCEMD has several resources available to assist people at this time.

Governor McMaster has directed the closure of state government offices in Richland and Lexington counties for Monday, February 2, 2026.  Driving conditions are expected to deteriorate rapidly and become hazardous after sunset today with overnight low temperatures dropping into the mid-teens.  Un-melted snow and water on roads is expected to re-freeze into dangerous ice that may linger into the late afternoon tomorrow.
