Age causes us to grow older,
Time allows us to grow wiser,
and Friendships help us to laugh and enjoy life to the fullest.
Love House Academy's Senior Day Program is designed for retired adults over the age of 60 who are looking for a place to remain healthy in Mind, Body, and Soul. It is for Lowcountry seniors who seek a reputable local organization to help them enjoy life to its fullest. Our Senior Day Program is also ideal for seniors who may otherwise be isolated in their home environment.
Love House Academy's Senior Day Program is free and open to the public. With sites across Beaufort County, seniors have easy access to a program that supports healthy socialization, physical activity, creativity, and soul-strengthening. We encourage regular attendance, and transportation is available to and from the Day Program.
Participants can expect to be around other people their age who seek the same in a Senior Day Program. Our services are structured with a simple routine including planned activities and fun adventures. Our goal is to support seniors in having healthy, active lifestyles and to inspire choices that promote wellness and overall improved quality of life.
Activities include but are not limited to: Socialization, Arts & Crafts, Health & Wellness, Nutrition & Fitness, BINGO, Community Excursions, Monthly Community Fellowships, Shopping, Gardening, Lifelong Learning, and more.
As of April, 2018 we have four Senior Day Program locations (Port Royal, Ladys Island, St. Helena, and Yemassee) and we are building up interest for our fifth location in Seabrook (please let us know if you or someone you know is interested in our Seabrook site and we will keep you informed as to when it will open).
To register, please contact our main office and request an application. Our main office hours are Monday through Friday from 9am to 6pm.
Beaufort County has a large number of grandparents raising grandkids. If you or someone you know is in need of affordable after-school and/or summer care, our Learning Academy services for students (children must be at least five years old) may be a good fit. The Learning Academy focuses on continual educational opportunities when school is out of session and supports academics, attendance, positive behavior, and healthy choices in mind, body, and soul. Please see our website for details or call for more information.
