We offer information on a variety of topics related to Alzheimer's and related dementias, such as disease stages, common behaviors, warning signs, getting a diagnosis, effective communication, clinical trial opportunities, safety considerations, care settings, legal and financial planning, caregiver respite and more. Our informed staff can make referrals to helpful community resources.

Caregiver Support
We have information to help caregivers find care, cope with changes and address common behaviors. The Alzheimer's Association offers no-cost care consultation for caregivers, both in-person and over the phone. Through one-on-one consultation, we help persons with Alzheimer’s and their families to maximize the care they receive and navigate difficult situations.
Caregiver support groups are also offered at no cost, both in-person and virtually, to help caregivers cope and better understand the disease process. These groups are free, confidential and open to anyone helping to care for someone with dementia. View our support group listings by county at http://alz.org/sc. When arranged in advance, our chapter can pay for a sitter to help family caregivers attend meetings up to twice a month. Please call 800-272-3900 to learn more about support group sitter service.
