    Meal Delivery

    Home-Delivered Meals: provide one hot, nutritionally sound meal five days a week to the door by a volunteer or agency staff members. This service is for persons who are age 60 and older, homebound and unable to purchase, prepare or otherwise obtain their own meals. Hot and frozen meals are available.

    Intake Procedure

    Basic information is gathered for the intake to determine if client is eligible for services. This includes age, location, and ability to complete activities of daily living. Once the intake form is completed, the referral is sent to Lower Savannah Council of Governments to complete a full assessment which determines if services will be approved or denied.

    Meals

    Congregate Meals: provide one hot, nutritionally sound meal five days a week in a congregate setting to enhance socialization with others and to provide nutrition, health/wellness education and daily activities.

    Housekeeping

    Provide assistance with light housekeeping chores to individuals age 60 and older who have a chronic illness, have limitations with instrumental activities of daily living, and have limitations that affect their inability to maintain a safe and sanitary home environment without assistance.

    Senior Center

    Offers exercise classes which includes a variety of different programs including zumba, yoga, and line dancing.

Description of Organization

Calhoun County Council on Aging (CCCOA) is a county agency that provides programs and services to promote the well-being of aging persons residing in Calhoun County, SC. Its purpose is to help them maintain their independence, function to the best of their ability, and to inform them of resources, activities and opportunities available in the community.
