    Volunteer

There are many ways to get involved with FoodShare by giving of your time, energy and talents. Helping pack boxes, delivering food boxes to those without transportation, and coordinating ordering and pick-up sites all help us grow the program to meet the needs of our community.

Fresh Food Box Packing: FoodShare’s Fresh Food Box program helps hundreds of families every month gain access to healthy fruits and vegetables that they may otherwise not have available to them. Boxes are packed every other Tuesday. We typically start at 9:00 a.m. and will finish up before lunch. Volunteer Sign-Up available at this link.

Fresh Food Box Delivery: We know that transportation can be a major barrier for some people in accessing good healthy food. The NeighborShare program involves being partnered with someone in your community to help them in placing their order and/or delivering their Fresh Food Box to them on pick-up days.

Fresh Food Box Distribution: With requests for Fresh Food Boxes increasing weekly, having volunteers that will serve as official Pick-Up Sites is crucial for expanding access to our program! Pick-Up Sites can be businesses, clinics, or other organizations. As a Pick-Up Site, you would be responsible for collecting orders and payment, picking up ordered boxes on pick-up days from the FoodShare SC Food Hub in Columbia and bringing them back to their location for participants to pick up.
