PalmettoMEC helps applicants qualify for nursing home and in-home care Medicaid.
Our initial interview is a free telephone consultation. Then an in person, virtual, or phone conference can be scheduled. Once all the relevant information has been gathered, we can determine how to best help the applicant meet Medicaid's eligibility requirements.
PalmettoMEC helps applicants and their families by conducting information-gathering, completion of needed forms, and clarifying policies and procedures for long-term care programs. We assist applicants or their authorized representatives in knowing how to manage assets advantageously for the applicant, and if applicable, a spouse; and provide guidance to them on how to promptly meet Medicaid's asset limit. Additionally, we help applicants resolve transfer of asset issues that could disqualify them from eligibility for a period if not addressed. We ensure that Medicaid's requirements are met and work closely with our clients to ensure that necessary actions are taken to secure a Medicaid approval decision. We also assist SCDHHS long-term care Medicaid recipients with the annual redetermination process.

Palmetto Medicaid Eligibility Consulting, LLC, (PalmettoMEC) specializes in helping South Carolina residents qualify for nursing home and in-home care Medicaid. As experienced consultants and planners, we partner with the applicant or a representative in the application process to obtain all documents needed to complete the nursing home application and meet Medicaid program requirements; we then organize the application and promptly submit it to the Medicaid agency, the SC Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS) for review and approval. PalmettoMEC's consultants have more than 30 years of Medicaid eligibility, policy, and case–management experience administering long-term care programs.
