    The Council engages in advocacy activities that contribute to a coordinated, consumer and family centered and directed, comprehensive system that includes needed community services, individualized supports and other forms of assistance that promote self-determination for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. Much of our work is done through funding grants under our Five Year State Plan.

Description of Organization

The South Carolina Developmental Disabilities Council is a federally funded program that provides leadership in planning, funding, and implementing initiatives that lead to improved quality of life for people with developmental disabilities and their families through advocacy, capacity building, and systemic change.
