The COMET, officially the Central Midlands Regional Transit Authority (CMRTA), is a regional transportation authority formed by Richland County, City of Columbia, and Lexington County by the Central Midlands Council of Governments.
 The COMET provides transit services on 47 fixed routes, five ReFlex services, vanpool service for commuters, subsidy programs with Uber and Lyft and DART for transportation to grocery stores and at night, ADA complementary paratransit service throughout Richland and portions of Lexington Counties and eight Blue Bike bikeshare stations in Downtown Columbia. The COMET transports approximately 2.2 million passenger trips a year on a fleet of more than 90 buses, vans and trolleys. Transit services are provided under contract with RATP Dev USA, Inc., Enterprise Holdings, Lyft, Uber and Bewegen.

Through the generosity of South Carolina veterinarians, SCVets Care has stepped up to provide vaccinations, spay and neuter services,  diagnostic services and much more to senior citizen pets. We are unable to supply food. We do require an estimate of services needed which can be emailed to us at info@scav.org. The Medication Assistance Pharmacy through Welvista provides free prescription medications to eligible, uninsured South Carolina residents. As a charitable, mail‑order pharmacy, Welvista has proudly served patients across the Palmetto State for more than 30 years. Our extensive formulary covers most medications used to treat chronic conditions, as well as select prescription over‑the‑counter medications. Approved prescriptions are filled by our pharmacy and delivered directly to your home at no cost to you.

To qualify for free medications through Welvista, you must:

1.Be a resident of South Carolina
2.Have no health insurance of any kind, including Medicare, Medicaid, VA Health Benefits, Affordable Care Act plans, or private insurance
3.Meet household income guidelines and provide proof of income for yourself and any income‑earning members of your household

Once approved, your healthcare provider can send your prescriptions directly to Welvista. We will fill and mail your medications straight to your home.
