Catawba Area Agency on Aging (AAA) serves as the regional aging focal point and resource connection for seniors, adults with disabilities, caregivers, families and professionals

Central Midlands Area Agency on Aging promotes a positive experience of aging for older individuals, the disabled community and their families. Serving Richland, Lexington, Newberry and Fairfield counties.

• Contracts with local council on aging agencies for services.
• Regional Aging and Disability Advisory Committee (RADAC) assist the Council of Governments in fulfilling the responsibilities of the AAA/ADRC.
• Majority of Aging Services are federally funded.
• Services provided include the Information Referral & Assistance Program, Family Caregiver Support Program and the I-CARE program.

The Area Agency on Aging identifies the needs of seniors and disabled persons and existing services available. The Area Agency on Aging prepares a plan to meet these needs of the senior population. Whereas the ADRC will link the disabled person to the local resources available. The AAA and ADRC staff work with federal, state, and local officials, service providers, volunteers, and the private sector to encourage new services. Lowcountry AAA/ ADRC staff members are dedicated to improving the lives of the senior and disabled populations. Our staff is available to speak to community groups about the programs available.

The Lower Savannah Council of Governments  helps develop, write and administer grants; provides research and data for planning and decision-making; offers access to the Aging, Disability & Transportation Resource Center and coordinates the region’s workforce development programs.

Palmetto Medicaid Eligibility Consulting, LLC, (PalmettoMEC) specializes in helping South Carolina residents qualify for nursing home and in-home care Medicaid. As experienced consultants and planners, we partner with the applicant or a representative in the application process to obtain all documents needed to complete the nursing home application and meet Medicaid program requirements; we then organize the application and promptly submit it to the Medicaid agency, the SC Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS) for review and approval. PalmettoMEC's consultants have more than 30 years of Medicaid eligibility, policy, and case–management experience administering long-term care programs.

Prisma Health SeniorCare - PACE provides All-inclusive Care for the Elderly living in Richland and Lexington counties.  A program for people over the age of 55 living with a disability.  The goal of the program is to keep people in the community for as long as safely possible.  The program is centered on the belief that the best outcomes happen when seniors are served in their own communities.  To meet this goal, Prisma Health SeniorCare - PACE focuses on both chronic care needs and preventive care with a medical and holistic approach. 

Santee-Lynches Area Agency on Aging, serve as a forum of governments, advocating a regional vision through identification of opportunities, effective courses of action, and appropriate resources essential to enable local governments to enhance the quality of life of the citizens of Clarendon, Kershaw, Lee and Sumter Counties.

The South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs (DDSN) is the state agency that plans, develops, coordinates and funds services for residents with various severe, lifelong disabilities. Populations served include individuals with traumatic brain injuries and spinal cord injuries, autism spectrum disorder, and intellectual disabilities.
