Event Details
The exhibition explores the enduring power of artistic identity through works created by South Carolina artist and longtime University of South Carolina professor Harry Hansen, spanning his professional career and later years living with Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD).
Drawing on Memory examines the relationship between creativity and cognition while highlighting art as a bridge to identity and personhood. The exhibition also reflects the mission of The Immutable Passion Project, co-founded by Susan Hansen Staves and her mother, Harry’s wife, Dee Hansen, which promotes dementia awareness and advocates for creative opportunities for individuals living with cognitive impairment.
