We have assessed, and continue to monitor, over 25 private-pay independent, assisted living, and memory care communities throughout Greater Columbia that offer a wide range of budgets, care levels, and amenities. We also can assist your Veteran patients and their spouses with the initial evaluation for possible Aid & Attendance benefits. Oftentimes, if they are eligible, it can make private-pay communities an affordable option. There is no charge to the patient or their family for this personalized service. 

We are a comprehensive resource for those in Aiken, Allendale, Bamberg, Barnwell, Calhoun and Orangeburg counties. The Lower Savannah Council of Governments  helps develop, write and administer grants; provides research and data for planning and decision-making; offers access to the Aging, Disability & Transportation Resource Center and coordinates the region’s workforce development programs.

DayBreak Adult Care Services provides in-home, personal care service to residents of The Midlands area (Richland and Lexington Counties), Aiken, Hilton Head/Bluffton, and Greenville area. Our services include bathing, dressing, companionship, household chores, meal preparation, errands, medication reminders. Our services are tailored to each person's needs and a free in-home consultation is provided. Neighbor to Neighbor of South Carolina, Inc. (N2N), a 501(c)3 nonprofit, promotes independence, relieves isolation, and connects homebound adults to their community through transportation.  Utilizing volunteer drivers, N2N coordinates transportation to medical related appointments, grocery stores, pharmacies, therapy appointments, and many other quality of life destinations.

Carrick Consulting offers Daily Money Management services to meet the needs of seniors and clients with disabilities who can handle most tasks of daily living, but find it difficult to keep up with routine paperwork and bill paying requirements. The Carrick Consulting team can help gather, analyze and organize assets; explain the client's personal financial statements and budget requirements, including a Medicare plan review, if applicable; establish a budget; manage incoming mail; set up automated bill payments; provide a monthly report on income and expenditures; handle tax preparation; and research billing disputes.

Carrick Consulting can also act as Trustee, Durable Power of Attorney or Conservator where clients cannot handle the financial tasks for themselves.

The Lexington County Sheriff's Department has forged a strong relationship with Project Lifesaver. This partnership allows us to use Project Lifesaver's technology to quickly track and locate individuals who are prone to wander from their homes.  You may contact Sgt. When you enroll your loved one in the program, you will receive a small personal Project Lifesaver transmitter.   This transmitter is worn on the wrist or ankle and emits an individualized tracking signal. If an enrolled Project Lifesaver client goes missing, the caregiver notifies the Department and deputies respond to the wanderer's area. Most clients who wander are found a few miles from home, and search times are reduced from hours and days to minutes. Recovery times for PLI clients average 30 minutes which is a 95 percent less time than standard operations.
