The Antioch Caregivers Support Group Ministry was primarily designed  to lend support to persons who serve as caregivers giving care for those with Alzheimer's and other dementia related illnesses.  The primary focus of this support group for caregivers is to educate, bring awareness training and self-care for care recipients and caregivers.

Each month, the support group meets at Antioch AME Zion Church in Eastover, SC for approximately 2 hours from 2-4 on the second Thursday.  A variety of formats have been used to provide helpful information and resources to the caregivers.  Workshops and seminars led by trained professionals, panel discussion, round table discussion, video presentations, topics dealing with mental health, dealing with emotions such as guilt and depression have been addressed.  

Currently, this program serves Lower Richland County.  Dr. Robert T. Benton serves as Program Director.

Respite Care Charleston is a nonprofit organization providing support and services for families affected by Alzheimer's disease and other types of dementia.  Services include half-day memory care (respite), caregiver support groups, one-on-one caregiver consultations, education and referrals, and programs for those with mild cognitive impairment or early-stage dementia.  

Many RCC services are offered at no cost, and scholarships are available to ensure no family is denied support due to financial constraints.

To ensure accessibility, services are offered at several locations in Mt. Pleasant, West Ashley, North Charleston, James Island and Johns Island.

The Alzheimer's Association is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer's care, support and research. The South Carolina Chapter serves the entire state through network of offices in Greenville, Spartanburg, Columbia and Charleston.

The ARK of SC's mission is to provide hope and relief to families living with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia. This is accomplished through social respite, caregiver support and consultation, community education, and mentoring underserved communities through the Neighborhood Outreach Alzheimer’s Help (NOAH) Project, in Dorchester, Charleston, Berkeley, Orangeburg, and Colleton counties.

Senior Matters is a provider of licensed non-medical caregiver services. Locally owned in Columbia, SC since 1997, Senior Matters provides non-medical caregiver services throughout South Carolina.  Senior Matters is proud to serve veterans through the VA Community Care Network.

Central Midlands Area Agency on Aging promotes a positive experience of aging for older individuals, the disabled community and their families. Serving Richland, Lexington, Newberry and Fairfield counties.

• Contracts with local council on aging agencies for services.
• Regional Aging and Disability Advisory Committee (RADAC) assist the Council of Governments in fulfilling the responsibilities of the AAA/ADRC.
• Majority of Aging Services are federally funded.
• Services provided include the Information Referral & Assistance Program, Family Caregiver Support Program and the I-CARE program.

We provide technology services, educational classes and programs for senior adults and their families, so they can be better connected. Bill has worked with 100’s of seniors throughout South Carolina teaching them how to use their technology more confidently, effectively and safely. Here is a summary of our services along with other educational programs:

• iPhone and iPad Classes-Learn how to use your phone and tablet more effectively, confidently and safely
• Educational Seminars- Provide various seminars relevant to help senior adults
• LifeStats- Learn how to manage your digital and personal assets

• Technology Centers for Seniors- Partnered with a South Carolina non-profit to provide technology to underserved communities
• In Home Technology Support- Setup technology and resolve issues in your home (limited geographic availability)

Our mission is to create resourceful and resilient family caregivers through innovative programs that offer education, support and wellness. Our programs and services are provided free of charge.

Visiting Angels in Anderson provides loving caregivers to help seniors and adults remain independent and living at home. We are a Direct Referral Agency specializing in the recruitment and placement of experienced independent caregivers with seniors on a direct-hire basis. Our clients are credentialed, verified, and screened.
