Established in 1914 as a private charitable trust, The Crane Fund grants aid to qualifying former employees of Crane Company who are experiencing financial insecurity and are unable to be self-supporting because of age or physical disability. 

A nonprofit organization made up of local Christian Churches united to provide short-term emergency assistance to those in need in the name of Christ.

The Medication Assistance Pharmacy through Welvista provides free prescription medications to eligible, uninsured South Carolina residents. As a charitable, mail‑order pharmacy, Welvista has proudly served patients across the Palmetto State for more than 30 years. Our extensive formulary covers most medications used to treat chronic conditions, as well as select prescription over‑the‑counter medications. Approved prescriptions are filled by our pharmacy and delivered directly to your home at no cost to you.

To qualify for free medications through Welvista, you must:

1.Be a resident of South Carolina
2.Have no health insurance of any kind, including Medicare, Medicaid, VA Health Benefits, Affordable Care Act plans, or private insurance
3.Meet household income guidelines and provide proof of income for yourself and any income‑earning members of your household

Once approved, your healthcare provider can send your prescriptions directly to Welvista. We will fill and mail your medications straight to your home.

The Department of Social Services provides protective services for children and vulnerable adults, adoption, and foster care services. It administers federal Title IV-B Child Welfare Services and Title IV-E Foster Care and Adoption Assistance programs. 

Additionally, a commodities program distributes supplemental food through a network of food banks. Other food programs provide financial assistance for child and adult care providers, homeless shelters, and summer feeding sites for children.

Carrick Consulting offers Daily Money Management services to meet the needs of seniors and clients with disabilities who can handle most tasks of daily living, but find it difficult to keep up with routine paperwork and bill paying requirements. The Carrick Consulting team can help gather, analyze and organize assets; explain the client's personal financial statements and budget requirements, including a Medicare plan review, if applicable; establish a budget; manage incoming mail; set up automated bill payments; provide a monthly report on income and expenditures; handle tax preparation; and research billing disputes.

Carrick Consulting can also act as Trustee, Durable Power of Attorney or Conservator where clients cannot handle the financial tasks for themselves.  

The Deep Well Project is a private social service agency helping people with basic services who are experiencing an emergency situation. Deep Well assists with rent payments, utilities, food, medicine, home repair and home furnishings. Our service area is Hilton Head Island and occasionally Bluffton.

Scutta Advocacy provides care management for seniors and individuals with disabilities. We are independent, knowledgeable, objective, and reliable. 

We provide general advocacy, medical advocacy, financial advocacy, environmental advocacy, and emotional well being advocacy. 

The Sarah Simpson Gossett Home is a non-profit independent living community that offers residential care to elderly women who are facing financial difficulties.

Scutta Advocacy Group provides professional advocacy and concierge life care management for seniors and those challenged by illness or disability. With wisdom, integrity, and compassion, we consider the complete lives of our clients, including medical advocacy, environmental, financial advocacy, and emotional well-being. 

Our Nurse Advocates (RN) and Physician Assistant Advocates are teamed with Certified Senior Advisors and others to gracefully provide these services. 

Straight Road International is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that serves communities through education and programs in financial and health literacy. Through our StraightAge Institute, we serve the diverse needs of older adults and their caregivers. We are engaged in memory screenings (non-diagnostic) and other community programs. We deliver educational content, training, and resources on various topics to older adults and their networks.

FallCall is a full-service medical alert provider delivering affordable, reliable safety solutions and individuals with health or mobility concerns. We partner with Area Agencies on Aging and state partners to expand access to essential emergency monitoring services. Our plans offer 24/7 two-way voice communication with trained responders, dependable fall detection options, and flexible service choices starting as low as $20 per month with month-to-month billing—no long-term contracts required. FallCall's support team is headquartered in the Myrtle Beach, SC area, with a focus on responsive customer care and community-focused service delivery. 

Caring Healthcare provides in home personal care services to elderly, disabled, and special needs children. We offer assistance with personal care, meal preparation, light housekeeping, companionship, supervision, transportation of adults, errands, assistance with ambulation & transfers.  In addition to in home care we also provide private sitting for clients during hospitalizations, while staying in a rehab facility after hospitalization, and for added supervision and assistance while staying in an assisted living facility.  We are available to provide services from 2 to 24 hours daily as needed.

Respite Care Charleston is a nonprofit organization providing support and services for families affected by Alzheimer's disease and other types of dementia.  Services include half-day memory care (respite), caregiver support groups, one-on-one caregiver consultations, education and referrals, and programs for those with mild cognitive impairment or early-stage dementia.  

Many RCC services are offered at no cost, and scholarships are available to ensure no family is denied support due to financial constraints.
