A nonprofit organization made up of local Christian Churches united to provide short-term emergency assistance to those in need in the name of Christ.

The Department of Social Services provides protective services for children and vulnerable adults, adoption, and foster care services. It administers federal Title IV-B Child Welfare Services and Title IV-E Foster Care and Adoption Assistance programs. 

Additionally, a commodities program distributes supplemental food through a network of food banks. Other food programs provide financial assistance for child and adult care providers, homeless shelters, and summer feeding sites for children.

The Deep Well Project is a private social service agency helping people with basic services who are experiencing an emergency situation. Carrick Consulting offers Daily Money Management services to meet the needs of seniors and clients with disabilities who can handle most tasks of daily living, but find it difficult to keep up with routine paperwork and bill paying requirements. The Carrick Consulting team can help gather, analyze and organize assets; explain the client's personal financial statements and budget requirements, including a Medicare plan review, if applicable; establish a budget; manage incoming mail; set up automated bill payments; provide a monthly report on income and expenditures; handle tax preparation; and research billing disputes.

Carrick Consulting can also act as Trustee, Durable Power of Attorney or Conservator where clients cannot handle the financial tasks for themselves.

The Sarah Simpson Gossett Home is a non-profit independent living community that offers residential care to elderly women who are facing financial difficulties.

Caring Healthcare provides personal care services to elderly, disabled, and special needs children. We offer assistance with personal care, meal preparation, light housekeeping, companionship, supervision, transportation of adults, errands, assistance with ambulation & transfers.

Margaret Kunes, MHA, CMC is an Aging Life Care Manager who operates a small practice offering highly personalized decision support for individuals and families faced with managing chronic illness, particularly cognitive impairment, or more general matters related to aging and planning for the future.

ALCC also offers assistance with exploring retirement community options, medication management, home care management, coordinating and attending medical and other business appointments.
 

SC Family Luv&Care located in Columbia, SC is a fabulous choice for families searching for an intimate safe environment setting for their loved ones. Our core services include in-home care; affordable boutique style assisted living placement; senior day care; and services dedicated helping with Alzheimers, dementia, and folks with disabilities. Straight Road International is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that serves communities through education and programs in financial and health literacy. Our goal is to help others walk the straight road towards health and financial success. 

I am a Senior Care Advisor - helping families navigate aging resources. I provide in-home assessments, therapeutic recreation program and activities, assistance with bringing resources into the home of a senior, allowing them to maintain as much independence as possible. I also provide assistance with researching available funding, long term care placement options and referrals to local geriatric practitioners.

Respite Care Charleston is a nonprofit organization providing support and services for families affected by Alzheimer's disease and other types of dementia.  Services include half-day memory care (respite), caregiver support groups, one-on-one caregiver consultations, education and referrals, and programs for those with mild cognitive impairment or early-stage dementia.  

Many RCC services are offered at no cost, and scholarships are available to ensure no family is denied support due to financial constraints.

To ensure accessibility, services are offered at several locations in Mt. Pleasant, West Ashley, North Charleston, James Island and Johns Island.
